Ceylon, (Sri Lanka), Anonymous issue, kahavanu or base gold stater, 10th-11th century A.D., (4.35, 4.43, 4.42 grams), De Silva and Codrington type I fine style, varieties 'jasmine and bud', 'vase' (2) (first not noted in Codrington, RRR), (cf.De Silva 23, 37, cf.M.825-5a, cf.Cod.8 B, p.55-56 Pl.III, 47). Good very fine and rare. (3)
