Republic, Struck Coinage, Anonymous Series, (225-212 B.C.), silver didrachm (quadrigatus), uncertain mint, (6.15 grams), obv. laureate janiform head of the Dioscuri, border of dots, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, driven by Victory, Jupiter holds sceptre and hurls thunderbolt, in exergue ROMA in relief on tablet, (S.80, Cr.29/3, Syd. 64e). Attractive dark tone good very fine and scarce.
