Central Greece, Locris Opuntia, (369-338 B.C.), silver stater, (12.00 grams), obv. Persephone to left, wreathed with corn, rev. Ajax, son of Oileus, naked but for helmet advencing right, holding sword and large shield decorated with serpent, with Phrygian helmet on ground, around OPON TIWN, (cf.S.2326, cf.BMC 20 var., McLean [Grose Fitz.] 5428 and Pl.198, 4). Nearly extremely fine and a rare.
