John Inglis, Storekeeper, Hall's Creek, Kimberley, Western Australia, issued at Hall's Creek, five pounds, uniface currency note, dated May 1, 1906, (190- printed), number No.A 16, watermarked part '..RNER ..DMILLS' vertically across note, value block in centre 'Ã…â€Å‣5 FIVE POUNDS Ã…â€Å‣5', imprint of Mannering & Co Ltd. Print. Fremantle', stating on front 'On Demand I Promise to pay on my Bankers the sum of Five Pounds sterling', signed by J. Inglis, affixed with Western Australia penny red and black duty stamp, all within rectangular star border, blue-green and black on white. Some creases and folds, dirty areas on back, written on in red FIVE POUNDS, otherwise very fine and very rare.

The issuer is not noted by Vort-Ronald. Spink Noble Sale No.36 (lots 2725) had an example of this issuer but for seven shillings denomination. The serial number of this note suggests a very low issue.
