Clarence Malcolm, Copeland, New South Wales, one pound, currency note, not dated (c.1870-1880's), number No. 73--- (number excised), no watermark, circular value tablets in upper corners, vignette of wharf and ships scene, imprint of 'Gibbs, Shallard & Co, Sydney', on front 'On Demand I promise to pay the Sum of ONE POUND Stg', the note once signed, now excised, all in rectangular frame, blue ONE across in centre with C.MALCOLM behind, on back in ink McCracken 27/5/86 and in pencil C.Malcolm Auctr Copeland and other markings, Blue and black on white. Excised areas covered by paper stuck to back of note, holes, creases, edge tears, folds, otherwise good and very rare.

Ex. Noble Numismatics Sale 45 Part A (lot 5291). $$ A note in pencil on the back of the note suggests that C. Malcolm was the auctioneer in Copeland. Other than this note little is known of Clarence Malcolm.
