Bukulla Vineyards, McIntyre River, Inverell, two pounds, promissory note, dated 18th Jan. 1871, (18 printed), number No.37, watermarked WK ING (sic) inverted, arms in centre, imprint of 'S.T.Leigh & Co. Sydney', stating on front 'Pay Brodii (?) (hand written) or Bearer the sum of two pounds Sterling (hand written) Stg', and to lower left 'Messrs Wyndham, Dalwood Vineyards, Branxton N.S.W.', signed by Hugh Wyndham, note is cross cancelled, marked Paid Jan 28/71, and stamped Commercial Banking Company of Sydney, INVERELL, all within rectangular ornamental border, with additional ink marks as numbers etc., on back, serrated left edge, dark blue on white (Vort-Ronald, type 1b, [p.23 & 25], cf.Fig 32). Pin holes and minor thin spots, folds, light tone spot at signature, otherwise very fine and scarce.
