Description

The Queensland National Bank Limited, Brisbane, one pound uniface, dated 1 January 1884 (date printed) and dated in pencil on frame 5th March 85, numbered No.B....., on paper with three official perforations holes, proof, no signatures, no watermarks, imprint of 'Perkins Bacon & Co. London', vignette of standing female with crook, all above Australian arms, 'Ã…â€Å‣ ONE' in oval geometric frame top right and lower left of note, black on white, (Vort-Ronald, Type one (b), Fig.213, [p.205] a similar note, further comments p.204-7, also Tomlinson p.86-7 and compare illustration p.87). Minor paper staining along top edge, otherwise extremely fine and rare.

A similar proof note was in the Spink Perkins Bacon Archive auction sale in May 1995 (lot 753 and illustrated).
