Bank of New South Wales, five pounds, issued at Sydney, April 1, 1881, (18 printed), No.A/A 189345, hand signed by Manager W.B. Hawthorne and entered by J.H. Potts, printed on watermarked paper 'BANK OF NEW SOUTH WALES' within saw toothed multiple line frame, with imprint in centre of bottom, 'Charles Skipper & East, London', with vignettes of female seated with produce and in top corners oval framed tablet with FIVE, all within rectangular ornate spiral border with NEW SOUTH WALES in frame, back with large 5 within oval surrounded by a ornate circles in each corner, blue on white, (New England Hoard No. 75 [Report of ANS 1974 yearbook, pp.49-68], Vort-Ronald, p.67-85 on bank, and similar note illustrated as Fig.78, Tomlinson p.24 illustrates five pound note of type). Folds and creases, with some aging tone, some blue colouration on back at right, otherwise nearly very fine and rare.
