Bank of New South Wales, one pound, issued at Sydney, April 1, 1875, (18 printed), No.A/A 927215, hand signed by Manager E.S. Spofforth and entered by J.H. Potts, probably printed on watermarked paper 'BANK OF NEW SOUTH WALES' within saw-toothed multiple line frame, with imprint in centre of bottom, 'Charles Skipper & East, London', with vignettes of female seated with produce and in top corners oval framed tablet with ONE, all within rectangular ornate spiral border without words, back with large ONE within rectangular frame surrounded by ornate circles in each corner, black on white/red on white, (Vort-Ronald, p.67-85 on bank, and similar note illustrated as Fig.76). Folds and creases, with some aging tone, otherwise nearly very fine and scarce.

The Bank of New South Wales one pound note is one of the commonest issues from this Pre-Federation period.
