L. MARCIUS PHILIPPUS, (c.56 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.944 grams), obv. Ancus Marcius head to right, ANCVS and lituus below and to left, dotted border, rev. PHILIPPVS behind equestrian statue to right on an arcade of five arches, within A Q V A MAR, flower below horse, (S.382, Cr.425/1, Syd.919a, RSC Marcia 29). Cleaned, weakness in centre of reverse, otherwise very fine, very scarce.
