ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.290-285 B.C.), silver stater or nomos, (7.700 grams), obv. Demeter head wearing corn wreath to left, rev. ear of corn, META upwards to right, amphora to left above leaf, **[F]*I below leaf, (cf.S.416, {ú175], Johnston NN&M 164 series C11.3 [same dies], BMC 114 [same dies], cf.SNG ANS 486-7 [same obverse die and very similar reverse die]). Nearly very fine, rare.
