Group of Four: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; General Service Medal 1918-62 (GVR) - one bar - Iraq. 2/Lt. J.F. Shaw I.A.R.O. Attd.122/Infy on the first medal, Capt. J.F. Shaw on the last three medals. All medals impressed. Very fine.
John Frederick Shaw, enlisted Bombay, India. On furlough from 122 Inf. (Indian Army) embarked with Imperial Reservists from Adelaide on "Clan MacCorquodale" 05Feb1917. Possibly at Gallipoli. Died between 1940 and 1945. Together with matching set of miniature medals, shooting fob medal in gold (9ct, 7.6gms, 40mm x 35mm) by G. Bros, reverse inscribed "Presented by/Lieut.Col G.J. Burnage VD/to/Co.Sgt J.F. Shaw/1910", return fob in gold (9ct, 5.0gms, 38mm) reverse inscribed "Presented to/Lieut/J.F.Shaw/by the Tighes Hill/Welcome Home/Committee/2.12.16", and a silver/gold plain fob medal inscribed "J.F.S."
