Thrace, Island off Thrace, Thasos, (c.510-490 B.C.), silver stater, (7.884 grams), obv. naked ithyphallic Satyr (archaic style) in kneeling running attitude carrying off nymph raising hand in protest, showing thumb and one finger, rev. quadripartite incuse square, (S.1357 [Å‣400], Asyut Hoard 102-108, Kraay 519, SNG Cop. 1008). Toned, with obverse die break in centre, otherwise nearly very fine with good facial detail and very scarce.
