Named pass in silver (16.2mm), fabricated from an English threepence, reverse side smoothed and engraved with central star/ray ornament and 'R.Lewis / Hobart Town', holed for suspension. Very fine and rare.
Richard Lewis (1789-1867). In 1823 he was one of the foundation proprietors of the Bank of Van Diemen's Land. He had extensive business interests in Hobart and was a shareholder in Pioneer Victorian Railways.
