Maximianus, (A.D. 286-305), silver argenteus, Nicomedia mint struck as Augustus, (2.974 grams), obv. laureate head to right, around MAXIMIA NVS AVG, Rev. around VICTORIAE SARMATICAE, The four princes sacrificing in front of a camp gate with six turrets, SMN **G* in exergue, (cf.S.3605, RIC 19b, RSC 552b). Struck on a large flan, attractive nearly extremely fine and rare.
