The Dewing collection of Greek coins is an indispensible work and reference. Noted to illustrate and list 57 Syracuse decadrachms. The Rosen collection was noted to illustrate many tiny silver fractional pieces. The Randazzo hoard of some 539 tetradrachms is one of the largest and best studied hoards of this period of Sicilian coinage. The hoard has coins from the following mints: Rhegion (10, see one important example in this sale), Akragas (8), Gela (29), Katane (29), Leontinoi (14), Messana (136), Naxos (5) and Syracuse (308, see an important example in this sale). The book examines Sicilian chronology in light of this and other hoards, making the publication the best study to date on this period.
