Syria, Kingdom of, Seleucus I, (312-280 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.975 grams), Seleucia on Tigris mint, c.295 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **DI* below throne, to left monogram HMP, to right **SELEU[KOU]*, in exergue **[BASILEWS]*, (S.6829, Newell ESM 4 [obv. A10], ACNAC Houghton 941, BMC 6, SNG Spaer 109-113, SNG Cop. 1). Slightly off centred on the obverse, otherwise good very fine, rare.

Newell counted 17 obverse and 40 reverse dies for this type.
