Board of Trade Medal for Gallantry, for Saving Life at Sea, in silver, with scroll fitted at top edge, edge engraved ’C.W.Gordon of the S.S."Servia" of Liverpool 12th June 1886.’ in fitted plush case with provision for scroll mount, lid gold block printed ’Board of Trade Medal / For Gallantry. / In Saving Life At Sea’; gent’s full hunter pocket watch marked ’Warranted Coin Silver’, #16143, A W Co Waltham on white dial with black Roman numerals, seconds dial and stop watch, inside reverse engraved, ’Presented / by the / Passengers of the / S.S.Servia / To / Charles William Gordon / for his Gallant Attempt / To Save The Life Of / Seaman Houston / on / June 12th 1886’, lid of watch engraved with a similar inscription but worn so virtually illegible, the watch attached to a brass watch chain with attached leather fitting for attachment to jacket button. Watch not in working order, face glass missing otherwise fine; some scuffing on edge of medal at S.S. of engraving otherwise extremely fine and a scarce double award set. (2)
