These notes were issued on 22nd November 1928 by the Bank of England following the bank assuming responsibility for printing and issuing the notes from the Treasury. Housed in a special presentation parchment (vellum) envelope, inscribed 'Bank of England 22nd November 1928'; together with a special presentation letter from the Bank of England (Duggleby B214).
