Victorian Horse Artillery, 1889-1897, original studio photographs of portraits and full length studies of Local Forces personnel in uniform, including in handwriting on the back of the photograph, Ernst Edmund Rumley, Gunner No.187 in the Victorian Horse Artillery Rupertswood Battery Sunbury 30.8.1896 (age 23yrs). The Battery supported by Sir W.J.Clark of Clivedon East Melbourne, signed E.Rumley 2.4.1948. Reginald Power as a lad later married Phylis Clark, daughter of the first Sir Rupert Clark. Most photographs with name on back (12), studios include Yeoman & Co., Falk, Foster & Martin, Charlemont. This is a very important group of early Victorian Local Forces for the collectors/researchers of Australian Military History, particularly the Rupertswood/Sunbury area. Good-very fine.(15)
