MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.04 grams), 'Uranopolis' mint, issued c.300-290 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **Q* below star on cone to left, A under throne, to right **ALEXANDRO[U]*, (cf.S.6713, Price 518, BMC 518, M.-, Ehrhardt 'Amphipolis' 69). Nearly extremely fine, very scarce.
