STIRLINGSHIRE, Culcreuch, Peter Speirs' cotton mill, halfpenny, countermarked as previous lot struck on the reverse of a Middlesex Sir Isaac Newton halfpenny, 1793; another but struck on the reverse of a 1775 halfpenny (Davis 116, S.St. 20). Nearly very fine and very rare. (2)

The first ex Australian Coin Auctions Sale 258 (lot 1696); the second ex Alex Hannah (lot 667 part) Collection (from Seaby in 1965).
