CAPE TOWN, City of, Catering Department, a set of cupro nickel tokens for 2/6, 2/-, 1/-, 6d, 3d and 1d (large octagonal) (T.C; M.25, 28, 30, 34, 37, 39) used only at the old Cape Town Pier Restaurant from about 1911. Another three complete sets plus an extra shilling. Generally very fine - extremely fine (19).
The first and third sets ex R.J.Ford Collection (lot 910 part), the second set ex Spink Sale 96 (lot 363 part), the fourth set ex G.Patterson Collection in 1977, the last ex D&W Sale 29 May 1996 (lot 378 part).
