EDWARD VIII, 1937, set of four privately issued Cyprus pattern/proof 45 Piastres, struck in (.925) silver, copper, Barton's metal (gold-plated copper) and golden alloy. Obverse features bare headed effigy of King sulpted by Donald R. Golding based on a combination of the submitted 1936 portraits of McMillan and Paget. Reverse features two lions passant, and is akin to the design of currency Cyprus coinage of the period. Plain edge. One of only 350 sets issued. (4)
