MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.705 grams), Ake mint, issued 309-308 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, date to left = year 38, to right **ALEXANDRO[U], (cf.S.6713, Price 3293, BMC 3295a-c, M.1448, Newell Ake 44 [obverse xxxviii same die]). Off centred on the obverse, fine/good fine.
