MACEDONIA, Philippi(?), Augustus, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), AE 17, (4.776 grams), obv. bare head of Augustus to right, around AVG, rev. two priests plowing to right to right, (S.-, RPC 1656, McClean 7660, SNG Cop. 382 (Parium). Attractive green patination, slightly off centre, good very fine.

RPC I (pp.309-310) has revised the attribution to Macedon (from Parium in Mysia). All the known archaeological finds are almost exclusively from Macedon.
