THRACE, Odessus, Gordian III and Sarapis, (A.D. 238-244), AE 29, (18.654 grams), obv. Gordian III laureate bust to right facing Sarapis turreted bust to left, around AVT.M.ANT **GORDIANO*C, in exergue AV**G*, rev. Tetrastyle temple on high podium, Tyche standing left holding cornucopia and sacrificing with patera over altar, in pediment facing quadriga around, O**DH*CC EIT**WN*, Z in exergue, (S.-, cf.Vismara 2058 [similar reverse], Price and trell colour figure 5 [opposite p.33 same reverse die], Pick 2360 (p.578, Pl.XX, 18]). Dark green and black patina with earthern highlights, very fine/good very fine and very rare.
