MBE GROUP OF EIGHT: The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member (MBE - Military) (type 2); 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. First medal unnamed as issued, M.2711, N.H.Simmonds, E.A.3., R.N. on second medal, M.2711 N.H.Simmonds. E.A.2 R.N. on third and fourth medals, the fifth and sixth medals unnamed as issued, M. (sic) H.Simmonds. R.A.N. on last two medals. All named medals impressed. Display mounted, very fine.
Note: Last two medals with incorrect first initial of M, should be N.
MBE: LG 11/7/1940, p4246 in King's Birthday Honours List, to Lieutenant Norman Henry Simmonds, HMAS Cerberus, RAN. The MBE presented to Mrs Simmonds by the Governor-General at Admiralty House, Sydney on 13Jun1942, as her husband was on active service.
