PAPUA NEW GUINEA, Central Highlands, 20th century, woven basket, with linear patterened weaving, handle and lid, (300mm high); another smaller Mendi basket, woven with handle and lid, (210mm high); Sepik, 20th century, timber skyhook for bilum bags, dark stained timber with tribal carved faces, (520mm long); bilum bag, 20th century, woven in red, green and yellow colours, (750mm long). Very fine.
Acquired in Port Morseby in the 1970s.
