Bid at live.noble.com.au

ROMANUS II, (A.D. 959-963), AE 17 (follis?), Cherson mint, (2.220 grams), obv. monogram of rho omega, rev. cross floriate on two steps, pellets to left and right, (S.1775, DOC 3, BMC 32-34 [Romanus I]). Very fine and scarce.

Purchased in March 2003. The comparative commonness of this type suggest that an attribution to Romanus I may be more preferable.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
