CHARLES I, (1625 - 1649), Exeter mint 1643-1646, silver crown, mm rose, issued 1644, Lockett 8, obverse IIb, (28.87 grams), obv. colon stops in legend, rev. mm to right of date, with pellet stops in legend, (S.3058, N.2557, Brooker 1033-1037 [same obverse die]). Toned, double struck on obverse at REX making it appear as RREX, some double striking on the reverse, otherwise good very fine and rare.

Ex Seaby Coin & Medal Bulletin, London, May 1983 (E285) with ticket. A comment by Seaby at the time regarded the piece as about as struck.
