CHARLES I, (1625 - 1649), Exeter mint 1643-1646, silver crown, mm rose, issued 1644, Lockett 8b, obverse IIb, (28.60 grams), obv. colon stops in legend, rev. mm to right of date, with pellet stops in legend, (S.3058, N.2557, Brooker 1035 [same dies]). Toned, double struck both sides, small flan crack at 6.00, otherwise fine and scarce.
Ex bought from Stanley Gibbons, London, June 1979, from List No.31 of 1979 (item 80), also noted as being from the Archbishop Sharp Collection, sold Sotheby's, London, 14 March 1966.
