SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, issued 201-210, Rome mint, obv. laureate, head to right of Septimius Severus, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. Septimius Severus veiled, standing half-left, holding branch and roll, around FVNDATOR PACIS, (BMC 330-1, RIC 265, C.205, S.1753). Bright and attractive, probable tooling in fields, otherwise extremely fine.
