ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.335-330 B.C.), silver distater or tetradrachm, (15.25 grams), obv. bearded Corinthian helmeted head of Leukippos to right, behind forepart of lion to right, rev. ear of corn, to right [MET]APONTINWN, to left club erect over leaf, [A]MI below, (S.414, Johnston B1.5, SNG Fitz 492, SNG ANS 430). Worn with light porosity, otherwise nearly fine and rare.
