ITALY, Calabria, Taras, (272-235 B.C.), silver stater, (6.24 grams), obv. naked boy rider crowning stationary horse to right, below **LEWN, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding grapes, to right monogram of AN, below dolphin a lion passant to left, (cf.S.374, cf.Vl.857-8, SNG ANS 1185 same reverse die). Very fine.
