SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus I, (280-261 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.15 grams), Series II Group C, Seleucia on Tigris mint, issued 270-267 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochus I to right, dotted border, rev. Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow and bow, on right, **BASILEWS and to left **ANTIOXOU, to left and right monograms, (cf.S.6866, Newell ESM 157, McLean 9249, Hunter 16). Good very fine, rare.

Newell has noted a total of 8 tetradrachms of this type with these symbols in public and private collections.
