Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.112 grams), Miletus mint, issued c.295-275 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **PA* monogram in circle to left of throne, double headed axe under throne, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6730, Price 2148, BMC 2148a-c, M.1139, Thompson Miletus 260-272). Minor scratch on reverse, otherwise good fine.
