Sydney International Exhibition, 1879 New South Wales, Judge's medal in silver (38mm) by W. Burtt, reverse inscribed 'J.F. Holle' with two suspension bars and navy blue ribbon. Also award medal in bronze (76mm) by J.S. & A.B. Wyon, inscribed on the reverse 'Awarded to/J.F. Holle/for/Services' in case of issue and two Great Britain Queen Victoria Golden Jubilee medals in white metal and bronze (38mm) by Joseph Moore, both cased. The Silver medal toned otherwise good extremely fine and very rare, the others nearly extremely fine-extremely fine. (4)

Sold with Certificate of Naturalisation 1850, three documentary receipts from Bremen for the estate of J.F. Holle, two photos of family members, Denization Act signed 1850, booklet Centenary of the Houses of Holle, 1839-1939, newspaper article by Isador Brodsky, Sydney Sun October 6th 1958. J.F. Holle born in Bremen, arrived in Sydney in 1839 and worked for Muller a tailor of George Street who died that year, Holle later established his own tailoring business at George Street in 1848 until 1913 and gained a reputation of always providing first class goods.
