Kemp & Gatehouse, Hobart Town, Van Diemen's Land, currency note, five shillings, 10 June 1824 (date entirely written), No. 132, hand signed as Kemp & Gatehouse, on printed form by S. Clayton, Sculpt, Sydney, with counterfoil (untrimmed size 187x115mm), dark green on white, on unwatermarked (McNeice illustrates a similar note p.12). Probably not released into circulation. and in superb condition, in far better than average condition, nearly extremely fine and very rare, probably unique with full counterfoil.

This note has Van Diemen's Land with a curved reading across and differs from the straight reading on the one pound note. Kemp & Gatehouse issued two different series of notes, one in the sterling series (5/-, 10/- and one pound) and a dollar series (half, one and ten dollars). See note below.
