IONIA, Teos, (540-520 B.C.), silver didrachm, (11.79 grams), obv. Griffin seated to right with raised foreleg, rev. quadripartite incuse square of rough form, (cf.S.3512, Balcer [SNR 1968, Vol.47], Group I No.3 obv. die A8, rev. die P11). Obverse off centre, otherwise very fine and rare.

Ex. Teos hoard c.1980 and Spink Noble sale 41 (lot 2167).
