MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip II, (359-336 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (13.98 grams), 'Amphipolis III' mint, issued c. 323/2-316/5 B.C., obv. head of Zeus laureate to right, dotted border, rev. naked youth or small man (Philip II), on horseback to right, aplustre below, monogram of **P dot on right, above **FILIP POU*. (cf.S.6683, Le Rider Pl.46, [p.124]). In high relief, well centred, two test gashes on reverse but not affecting the design, otherwise good very fine and rare.
