Faustina Senior, wife of Antoninus Pius, (died A.D.141), AE sestertius, Rome mint, (22.3 grams), obv. draped bust to right of Faustina with hair bound up behind head, around DIVA AVGVSTA FAVSTINA, rev. PIET AS AVG around, Pietas standing to left, dropping incense on candelabrum or altar and holding a perfume box, S C across field, (S.1366, RIC 1146A, C.240). Attractive even dark brown patination, spot of inactive green on neck, otherwise nearly very fine and scarce.
