Siculo-Punic, (c.350-320/315 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.674 grams), obv. wreathed head of Persephone to left wearing triple-pendant earring and necklace, dotted border, rev. horse leaping with hind legs together on the ground to the right behind a palm tree with fruit, thick exergue line, (S.6431 [p.595], Jenkins, SNR 56, 123 [same dies 042/R111], Merzbacher Sale 2nd November 1909 [lot 3190 same dies], SNG Lloyd 1616 [same dies], Niggeler Sale 541 [same dies]). Lightly toned, interesting die break on reverse, good very fine/very fine, attractive, and rare.

Ex Numismatica Ars Classica Auction Sale Auction I, 19th May, 1999 (lot 1240). Jenkins records only five examples of this coin type from these dies. This coin is a new piece not featured in that listing.
