Zeugitania, Carthage, (c.241-221 B.C.), AE 27, (13.486 grams), obv. head of Tanit to left, crowned with wreath of corn, wearing earring with single pendant and necklace, rev. free horse standing to right, palm tree with fruit behind, (cf.S.6506, M.172, cf.SNG Cop. 344, cf.Visona 35 [dates 235-230 B.C.]). Appears to be overstruck on a Roman As, (rev. prow partially discernable), green/brown patina, otherwise very fine and very scarce.
