Zeugitania, Carthage, African Revolt (Libya), (c.241-238 B.C.), billon didrachm or shekel, (7.270 grams), obv. head of young Hercules to left, clad in lion skin, rev. lion prowling to right, above Punic letter 'M*, overstruck on horse standing to right, (cf.S.6543, Robinson, Num. Chron. (1953) No. 22, [p.29 Pl.III, 4], SNG Cop. 241-2). Full flan, well centred, extremely fine and rare, with a trace of overstrike on the Carthaginian earlier single shekel.
