Zeugitania, Carthage, African Revolt (Libya), (c.241-238 B.C.), billon didrachm or shekel, (7.450 grams), obv. head of Tanit to left, wreathed with corn, wearing necklace and triple pendant earring, dotted border, rev. horse standing to right, Punic letter 'M* beneath horse's body, and Punic letter A between horse's hind legs, (cf.S.6540, Robinson, Num. Chron. (1953) No. 15, [p.28 Pl.II, 10], SNG Cop. 237). Full flan, well centred, nearly extremely fine and rare, overstruck on earlier Carthaginian issue.
