Description

Corinthia, Corinth, (405-345 B.C.), silver stater, (8.440 grams), obv. Pegasos flying to left, Q below, rev. head of Athena to left, wearing plain Corinthian helmet, cock fighting to left behind, (cf.S.2626, Calciati 326 [p.235, 2 reported], cf.Ravel 863 [p.228, Pl.LII, 4 reported], [P348 obverse die same as 830-839, T494, same reverse die as 827, 845, 854]). A nice well centred coin with a flaw on Pegasus, otherwise nearly extremely fine and very rare, apparently an unpublished die combination.
