Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachms, (17.0 grams), Babylon mint, issued 323-317 B..C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, uncertain to left, **LU* below throne, traces to right **ALEXANDROU, BASILEWS* in exergue, (cf.S.6713, Price 3689-3696); another similar but plated, (15.1 grams), (Price 4037). Second plated with dirt attached to surface, otherwise fine, the first coin, fair with surface marks. (2)
