Description
Justinian II, (A.D. 685-695), half follis, Constantinople mint, (3.87 grams), obv. facing bust of Justinian II, rev. K, to right II = year 2 = 686-7, officina **G* below, ANO to left, cross above, (S.1262, DOC 20a). Good fine and very rare.
The flan is triangular in shape and is presumably a quarter of one of the larger flan folles of Constantine IV (same as the DOC 21a example cited above and similar to that illustrated in Sear 1262).
