Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.820 grams), Macedon 'Amphipolis' mint, issued 320-317 B..C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, corn ear and **BAS ILEWS* to left, to right **ALEXANDROU, P* below throne, (cf.S.6713, Price 122, BMC 122a-b, M.570, Demanhur 1541-1550). Bright well centred on obverse, very fine and a scarce symbol.
